Fall in our stars12/27/2023 Sadly, apparently she does not feel the same way, as Monica breaks up with Isaac before his eye surgery, because she says she can't handle him being blind. They have this thing about saying "Always" to each other to signify that they will always be together - Isaac feels that it's like a promise. Isaac has a girlfriend in the beginning of the book named Monica, who he absolutely loves. He even has a great sense of humor after losing his second eye, officially making him blind. As I said up above about the other two characters, Isaac also has a great sense of humor. My last favorite character would be Isaac. Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book. If you are a huge reader like me (or Hazel Grace) you'll understand exactly what she's saying. There are some books you read that feel like they just changed your entire life, even though it's just a book - and her quote below explains it perfectly. She also is a huge reader like me, so what's not to like? This quote shows she is one, and she also feels the same way I do about certain books. It's hard to not like her honestly, especially since she's the one narrating it. Hazel is pessimistic I suppose, (but she does have cancer so she has a reason to be), but she also has a good sense of humor. They are the main characters of the book, after all. Obviously, my top 2 favorite characters are Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters. Here is a link to buy The Fault in Our Stars from Amazon. This book does have a terribly sad ending (ish) but it's worth it, as it is a wonderfully well written book and there is a good lot of humor thrown in too. I'd love to say more - but I don't want to spoil. Hazel and Augustus grow close over this book and it's mostly about their relationship together. Augustus is mad though, because An Imperial Affliction (about an actual cancer patient named Anna and her life) ends in the middle of a sentence - sort of like either she became to sick to narrate any more, or she died. They both read each other's books and they both love them (Hazel even buys the next few sequels to The Price of Dawn). Sounds fun to me!) which is based on his favorite video game. While talking she mentions her favorite book - An Imperial Affliction (sadly, not a real book - but in the movie they needed a prop version so John Green wrote 2 pages for it, and apparently you can buy it somewhere - I really need to find out where) and Augustus promises her he'll read it, but in return he asks her to read his favorite book - The Price of Dawn (apparently John Green wrote an excerpt of this one too - as a special prize for a fundraiser. After support group they talk and hit it off, so he invites her over to his house to watch a movie. Augustus Waters had osteosarcoma in his leg, so it had to be amputated, but he is now cancer free. She is intrigued by Augustus as he can't stop looking at her (this is explained later). At first, she can not stand support group (which honestly makes sense) but then one day, a boy named Augustus Waters comes to support his friend Issac (who has eye cancer - one of his eyes has already been removed but it's spread to the other, so they're taking that one out as well so he'll be cancer free). When the book starts, she is made to go to a support group by her parents as they believe she is depressed. It's basically about this girl, Hazel Grace Lancaster who has lung cancer. It's hard to explain what it's about, because the synopsis doesn't do it justice. This one was the first I read though, and my favorite by far. I've read almost all of his novels except for one. It's written by one of my favorite authors John Green. The Fault in Our Stars is a sad novel, but also really funny. I also watched the movie to celebrate, so if this post gets a bit sad, that's why.
